Symposium.AlbertoDeCampo ![]() Alberto de Campo, born 1964 in Graz, Austria, has studied classical composition in Graz, and jazz guitar pedagogy in Linz, Austria. From 1998-2000, he was guest researcher in electronic music and later Research Director at CREATE/UC Santa Barbara, where he developed experimental software instruments with Curtis Roads, and taught sound synthesis and musical programming. From 2001 to 2004, he was artistic/scientific assistant for Media Composition at the Academy for Media and Arts Cologne (KHM); in the winter semester 2004/5, he held the 'Edgard Varèse Guest Professorship for Electronic Music' at TU Berlin. He has been teaching the Electronic Music Lab for Composers at the Music University Graz since 1999, and since 2005, he leads an interdisciplinary research project on sonification based at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) Graz. He has been holding numerous lectures, workshops and master classes on sound synthesis and music programming at international centres for Electronic Music. He plays with the ensembles Powerbooks Unplugged, Sonoaviatik, is part of the art thinktank 'realtime research', and has done a wide range of artistic projects with Andres Bosshard, earweego, Julian Rohrhuber, Bill Fontana, the Institute for Sonoaviatics, and others. |
