In the late 1960s, Iannis Xenakis started his research on stochastic synthesis: an approach to sound synthesis based on probability distributions. This research had the goal of efficiently producing sonorities with “numerous and complicated transients".

In "Happy Birthday", I wanted to take advantage of the evocative qualities of an extension of Xenakis' last stochastic synthesis approach (from 1994) that I am currently developing.
